Artistic description
This old tapestry of the Beni Ouarain tribe is a piece of exceptional rarity. It is not made as a traditional wool tapestry, but on a base of braided dwarf palm, then embroidered with wool, cotton and small metal medals that capture the light with delicacy.
The metal medals add a very unique light movement. Hanging on a wall, this tapestry becomes a work of textile art, between ritual object, symbolic architecture and contemporary primitive painting.
