Berber Boucherouite Rugs

Boucherouite (or Boucharouite) rugs are unique Moroccan rugs distinguished by their method of manufacture and colorful aesthetics. These rugs are woven from remnants of recycled fabrics, such as cotton, polyester, wool and sometimes even synthetic fibers. These rugs are made from fabric scraps, making them remarkable examples of creative recycling. Artisans use these recycled materials to create highly decorative and eco-friendly rugs. Thanks to the use of various recycled materials, Boucherouite rugs are very colorful and feature a multitude of textures. Their bright colors and irregular patterns make them visually captivating and perfect for adding a touch of color to any interior. Although they do not follow the traditional patterns of Berber rugs, they are often adorned with abstract and geometric designs improvised by the weavers. Each rug is therefore a unique work of art, reflecting the artisan’s personal creativity. Boucherouite rugs can be used in a variety of decorative contexts. Their eclectic style adapts to both modern interiors and more traditional settings. They are often used as floor rugs, but also as tapestries or furniture coverings to give them an artistic touch.
