Artistic description
This ancient Boujad carpet displays a dense, luminous, almost incandescent composition. On a vibrant background of deep reds, oranges and pinks, the motifs seem to float like ancient signs: rhombuses, silhouettes, architectural fragments, vertical paths and protective figures. Nothing is strictly symmetrical; everything breathes with the freedom of a gesture transmitted, reinvented and alive.
Its richness is born both from color and from its inner rhythm. Every detail seems to tell an intimate memory, a scene, a mental landscape, a presence. The wool, softened by time, retains that particular warmth of the great old carpets of Boujad: a pictorial intensity, an almost modern vibration, born of an ancestral language.
